Dairiseki means marble — stone veined with colour, cut and polished to be looked at — and this katana follows the same logic: a blade made first to be seen. Its bright-red manganese steel turns the sword into a centrepiece for a collection or an interior, without abandoning the honesty of a full-tang build.
Forging & Steel
The blade is forged from manganese steel, a tough, impact-tolerant alloy well suited to entry-level swords, here finished in a bold, bright red that gives the piece its identity. At 0.75 cm thick across a 71 cm blade it carries enough presence to anchor a display while staying a real, full-tang sword rather than a painted wall-hanger.
Manganese steel is the workhorse alloy of entry-level blades for good reason: it shrugs off impact and resists chipping, which is why we are comfortable mounting it as a full-tang sword rather than a glued display blank. The bright red here is a finish, not a structural compromise — beneath it sits a genuine blade with the heft to anchor a 103 cm katana on a stand. If your aim is regular cutting we would steer you to a clay-tempered model, but as a statement centrepiece that can still be drawn and handled, the Dairiseki earns its place.
Fittings
The tsuba is carefully carved copper, warm against the red steel. The saya is solid wood finished to highlight the natural grain, and the tsuka is lacquered magnolia wood wrapped in genuine stingray leather for a comfortable, refined grip.

Is it battle-ready?
The Dairiseki is conceived as a display and statement piece, but the full-tang manganese blade is a genuine sword rather than a decorative blank. For light cutting choose a clay-tempered model; for the look, this is the centrepiece. Browse the katana collection, or other entry pieces like Katana Tengu and Katana Chie.

Great craftsmanship on the sword. Love the look of it and my son was really happy with it.
