Tanjiro Kamado’s blade is the heart of Demon Slayer, and this Tanjiro V2 katana is our second interpretation of it — a fresh mounting of his signature sword for the fan who already knows the character and wants another build on the rack. It is a genuine working sword, not a costume prop.
Forging & Steel
The 72 cm blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel, a high-carbon alloy that takes and holds a true edge while staying resilient under impact. It is hand-polished to reveal the steel and mounted on a full-tang core, so the whole katana is one solid, dependable piece. Two bamboo mekugi pin the tang for full disassembly.
Mounts & Fittings
A sculpted iron tsuba guards the hand and seats the balance, carved iron menuki sit under the synthetic-shagreen wrap for grip, and the light lacquered wood saya keeps the sword nimble and clean on a stand.
Care & Maintenance
A high-carbon blade like this rewards a little upkeep. Because 1060 steel is reactive, wipe the blade down after every handling session and lay on a thin film of light mineral or camellia oil before it slides back into the saya, which stops surface rust from ever taking hold. Knock out the two bamboo mekugi when you want to strip the sword for a deeper clean, and store it edge-up on a stand so the lacquered scabbard never bears the weight of the blade. Treated this way, it stays keen, bright and display-ready for years.
