Few blades cross from the screen to the hand as cleanly as Moonveil. Drawn from the cult katana of Elden Ring, this is no plastic prop — it is a genuine full-tang sword forged in T10 tool steel, built to carry the myth of the game while standing up to real cutting practice. Where the source is steel and the legend is moonlight, we let the blade do the talking.
Forging & Steel
The blade is forged from T10 tungsten-alloy tool steel, prized for its toughness and edge retention, then differentially hardened to raise a well-defined hamon along the edge. That temper line is the working heart of the sword: a hard, sharpened edge backed by a more forgiving spine, so the blade resists chipping and shock while cutting clean. The result is resilient enough for tatami and faithful enough to satisfy a fan of the game.
Mounting & Fittings
The dramatic colouring true to Moonveil lives in the saya — lightweight lacquered and painted wood that carries the game’s aesthetic without weighing the sword down. The carved copper tsuba absorbs shock and guards the hands, while the tsuka is wrapped in genuine stingray leather with a bamboo-shaped copper menuki kit and two bamboo mekugi for a firm, structural grip.

Is it battle-ready?
Yes. Despite the game lineage, the Moonveil is a sharpened, full-tang T10 blade with a real differential temper — a functional katana, not a costume piece. It is light at 1.2 kg, quick in the draw, and equally striking on a stand. If you like the T10-and-hamon recipe, compare the mirror-polished Katana Ryousei and the dragon-themed Katana Kaji in our katana collection.

The sword is heavy and very sharp, looks just like it does in the game. Feels really nice in the hand, no rattles or wobbles. There are a few minor flaws on the tsuba specifically, it seems to be cast from a soft metal like brass or something. The rings on the tsuba got bent in shipping but I was able to bend them back enough that it’s not really noticeable. Otherwise it’s rock solid and a lot of fun to play with.
