Ame no Habakiri — the blade Roronoa Zoro carries in One Piece — is named for an ancient sword of legend, and this Ame no Habakiri katana wears that pedigree well: a clean white-lacquered mount over a blade with real cutting intent. It is built for the fan who wants Zoro’s sword to actually behave like one.
Forging & Steel
The 72 cm blade is forged in 1060 carbon steel, valued for its resilience and the keen edge it takes. We hand-polish it to draw out the nuances of the steel, then mount it on a full-tang that makes the sword a single, solid piece from edge to pommel. Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang and allow full disassembly for care.
Mounts & Fittings
A sculpted iron tsuba carries detailed motifs and sets the balance, while carved iron menuki sit beneath a synthetic-shagreen wrap for grip. The white-lacquered saya is light in the hand and clean on a stand — the detail that makes this Zoro sword read instantly to anyone who knows the series.
Care & Maintenance
A high-carbon blade like this rewards a little upkeep. Because 1060 steel is reactive, wipe the blade down after every handling session and lay on a thin film of light mineral or camellia oil before it slides back into the saya, which stops surface rust from ever taking hold. Knock out the two bamboo mekugi when you want to strip the sword for a deeper clean, and store it edge-up on a stand so the lacquered scabbard never bears the weight of the blade. Treated this way, it stays keen, bright and display-ready for years.

Is it battle-ready?
Yes. At 1.4 kg with a sharpened full-tang blade, it is well balanced for martial-arts training or as a decorative centrepiece. Pair it with the other swords in Zoro’s collection from our anime katana range, such as the Wado Ichimonji katana and the Yubashiri katana.
