Sanemi Shinazugawa is the Wind Hashira — all aggression and forward drive — and this Sanemi Shinazugawa katana is built to match that energy on the cutting mat and on the wall. It is a true working blade dressed in Demon Slayer character, not a costume prop.
Forging & Steel
The blade is forged in 1060 carbon steel, prized for being resilient under impact and easy to bring back to a keen edge. We hand-polish it to reveal the steel’s depth, then set it on a full-tang core so the energy of a cut travels straight from edge to grip with nothing to flex or rattle. Two bamboo mekugi hold the tang, letting you strip the katana down completely for oiling and inspection.
Mounts & Fittings
Carved iron tsuba and menuki add the weight that pulls the balance toward the hand for fast, controlled motion, while the lightweight lacquered wood saya keeps the whole sword nimble in and out of the draw. The handle is wrapped in synthetic shagreen for a secure grip that holds even when your hands are working hard.
Care & Maintenance
A high-carbon blade like this rewards a little upkeep. Because 1060 steel is reactive, wipe the blade down after every handling session and lay on a thin film of light mineral or camellia oil before it slides back into the saya, which stops surface rust from ever taking hold. Knock out the two bamboo mekugi when you want to strip the sword for a deeper clean, and store it edge-up on a stand so the lacquered scabbard never bears the weight of the blade. Treated this way, it stays keen, bright and display-ready for years.
