Every blade is inspected, oiled and packed discreetly — the carton never announces a sword inside.

Ryujin (龍神) is the dragon god — the deity of the sea, ruler of tides from a coral palace beneath the waves. This katana channels that authority into a more compact, manageable form, with a carved-iron tsuba that evokes the dragon legends directly and a blade scaled for quickness.

Forging & Steel

The blade is a composite: a refined T10 tool-steel core for strength, wrapped in a folded Damascus outer that carries the hamon. The T10 core gives hardness and edge strength; the Damascus skin adds wear resistance, sharpness and the flowing grain that no stamped steel can match. That layered build lets a hard cutting edge sit inside a body with enough flex to take impact. At a 52 cm blade and 78 cm overall it is shorter than a full katana — quicker in the hand and easier to wield in tight spaces — without giving up beauty or quality.

Fittings

The carved-iron tsuba carries dragon imagery true to the name and adds a little counterweight at the collar. The saya is lacquered solid wood, and the tsuka is magnolia wood wrapped in shagreen (stingray) leather for a firm, secure grip that stays dry in the hand.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The T10-cored Damascus blade is sharpened and functional. Its shorter length makes it a wieldy, manageable cutter for those who want quickness without compromising on quality, and the lighter blade is forgiving through fast forms. As a high-carbon composite it asks only for a wipe-down and a light oiling between uses. Browse the full katana collection, or compare with the master-grade Katana Shujin and Katana Orochi.
