Fukkatsu means revival — a rebirth — and that is exactly the spirit of this sword: a faithful return to the old way of forging, brought back in modern T10 steel. It is a piece for the collector and the practitioner who want a historical katana that has been resurrected, not merely copied, with an intricate temper line running the full length of the blade.
Forging & Steel
The blade is forged in the old style from high-carbon T10 tool steel, then differentially hardened to raise an intricate hamon across the entire 72 cm edge. That full-length temper line is both the traditional aesthetic and the working sign of a hard, keen edge backed by a tough spine — clay-tempered work that gives the blade its sharpness and resilience at once.
Mounting & Fittings
The tsuba is sculpted copper, gilded and silvered with floral motifs, while the saya is black-lacquered wood dressed with a woven green-and-white sageo. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine white shagreen with a copper menuki kit and two bamboo mekugi over a true full-tang blade, balanced for both training and display.

Is it battle-ready?
Yes. Fukkatsu is a sharpened, full-tang T10 blade with a real differential temper — a functional katana balanced for training as much as display. It is light at 1.2 kg and faithful to the historical form it revives.
