The tanto is the smallest blade of the samurai’s set, but never the least considered — it was the close-work dagger, the last blade in hand when distance closed to nothing. This Owari tanto takes its name and its bearing from the famed Owari province school, finished to sit in quiet harmony with the matching katana and wakizashi.

It carries the same dress as its longer siblings: a wrapped tsuka for grip, a small guard at the throat, and a lacquered saya that closes the line. Compact and balanced in the hand, the Owari tanto reads as the deliberate punctuation mark to a full Owari katana set.

Add it to the matching Owari wakizashi to complete the three-blade daishō presentation, and rest the trio on a multi-tier stand for a finished display.
