Kogane no ō means the golden king — and this black and gold samurai armor wears the title with a quiet authority. Where lesser suits shout, this one commands: deep black plate lifted by yellow and gold lacing and red accents, every piece made entirely by hand by an experienced armorer rather than mass-produced.
The black kabuto helmet rises 68.5 cm, paired with a black menpo face mask (17 cm, complete with moustache). The shoulder guards (sode) are laced in yellow and red cord; the chest piece (do) carries the black, white and yellow scheme; the shin guards (suneate) and a 2 m yellow obi finish the silhouette. Beneath the plate sits a cotton-and-fiber jacket acting as a real, adjustable protective vest.
Delivered ready to display
Unlike most suits, Kogane no ō arrives complete with its own black-lacquered box and a matching display stand — so it can be mounted and shown from the day it lands. Every plate is hand-laced with high-quality Odoshi cotton dyes and traditional detailing.
