Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your purchase of products from Katana Sword through our website at https://katana-sword.uk (the “Site”). Please read them carefully before placing an order. If you have any questions, you can contact us at info@katana-sword.uk.

1. Introduction and acceptance of terms

These Terms set out the basis on which we sell and supply our products to you. By placing an order with Katana Sword, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you should not place an order with us.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version in force on the date you place that order. We recommend that you review these Terms each time you make a purchase.

2. About our products

Katana Sword sells hand-forged Japanese swords, including katana, wakizashi, tanto and ninjato, as well as anime-style display blades and a range of accessories. Our products may be functional bladed items, decorative display pieces, or both, depending on the individual product.

We take care to describe each product accurately on its product page, including its intended purpose. Because our swords and blades are hand-forged, small variations in finish, colour, grain, marking and dimensions are a natural part of the craft and are not defects. Photographs and illustrations are provided as a guide and the product you receive may differ slightly in appearance.

Many of our products have sharp edges or points and are capable of causing serious injury. They are intended for responsible adult collectors, practitioners and display purposes only. You are responsible for handling, storing and using any product safely and lawfully.

3. Age restriction and lawful use

This section is important. Please read it carefully before ordering.

It is unlawful in the United Kingdom to sell or supply certain bladed articles, including many of the items we offer, to anyone under the age of 18. Our products are therefore strictly restricted to adults aged 18 or over.

By placing an order, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and that you are purchasing for yourself or for another adult who is legally entitled to receive the product. We may, at our discretion, require proof of age or other verification before accepting or dispatching an order, and we may refuse, cancel or delay any order where we are not reasonably satisfied that this age requirement is met. An adult signature may be required on delivery.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that the purchase, possession, importation, carrying, transport and use of any bladed item you order from us is lawful in your own country, region and locality. Laws relating to bladed articles vary considerably between jurisdictions and may be stricter than those in England and Wales. It is your responsibility to check and comply with all applicable laws before ordering. We do not provide legal advice, and nothing on the Site should be taken as confirmation that a product is lawful for you to buy, own or carry where you live.

You must never carry a bladed item in public without lawful authority or a good reason, and you must never use any product to threaten, harm or intimidate any person. Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that an order may relate to an unlawful purpose, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order and, where required, to cooperate with the relevant authorities.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are shown on the Site in pounds sterling (GBP, £). The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time you place it. Unless stated otherwise on the product page or at checkout, prices are shown exclusive of any applicable VAT and exclusive of delivery charges; any tax and delivery costs that apply will be calculated and displayed before you confirm your order.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment provider. By submitting payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided. We do not store your full card details. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy.

While we make every effort to ensure pricing is accurate, errors may occasionally occur. Where the correct price of a product is higher than the price stated on the Site, we will contact you before dispatch to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order. We reserve the right to correct any pricing or description errors and to cancel any order affected by such an error.

5. Orders and order acceptance

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket. We will send you an order confirmation by email acknowledging that we have received your order. This acknowledgement does not constitute acceptance of your order.

A binding contract between you and Katana Sword is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation, or otherwise confirm that we have accepted your order. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order before that point, including where the product is unavailable, where we have been unable to verify your age or payment, where there has been a pricing or description error, or where we reasonably believe the order may breach these Terms or any applicable law. If we cannot accept your order, we will let you know and will refund any payment already taken.

6. Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery is carried out by third-party couriers, and estimated delivery times, costs and available destinations are set out on our Shipping page and at checkout. Delivery timescales are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to the address you provided, or when they are first made available for collection if applicable. You are responsible for providing accurate delivery details and for ensuring that someone aged 18 or over is available to receive the order where an adult signature is required. Where an order cannot be delivered because of incorrect details or a failure to receive it, additional charges may apply.

You are responsible for any import duties, taxes or customs charges that may apply to international deliveries, and for ensuring that the import of bladed items into the destination country is lawful. Please see our Shipping page for further details.

7. Right to cancel and 14-day cooling-off period

If you are a consumer based in the UK, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 within 14 days, without giving a reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone you nominate, receives the goods (or, for orders delivered in multiple parts, the last part).

To exercise your right to cancel, you must tell us of your decision before the cancellation period ends by sending a clear statement to info@katana-sword.uk. You must then return the goods to us without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel.

Returned items must be unused and in their original condition, complete with any packaging, documentation and accessories supplied. We may reduce the amount we refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Please note that the right to cancel does not apply to certain products, including goods that are made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as bespoke, custom-forged, engraved or otherwise customised blades. Such items are non-cancellable and non-returnable once production has begun, except where they are faulty or not as described.

8. Returns and refunds

In addition to your statutory cancellation rights, we accept returns and process refunds in accordance with our Returns policy. Where a refund is due, we will refund the price you paid for the returned goods using the same payment method you used to place the order, within the timescales required by law. For full details of how to return an item and how refunds are calculated, please see our Returns page.

Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights in relation to goods that are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Warranty and product care

We warrant that, on delivery, our products will conform to their description and be free from material manufacturing defects, subject to the natural variations inherent in hand-forged items described above. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, improper storage, exposure to moisture, normal wear, or failure to follow our care instructions.

Bladed and forged items require ongoing care to remain in good condition, including protection against rust and corrosion. To keep your product in the best possible condition and to preserve any warranty, please follow the guidance set out in our Care Guide.

10. Limitation of liability

Our products are sold for lawful, responsible use by adults only. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Katana Sword shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from the misuse, careless handling, improper storage, alteration, or unlawful purchase, possession, carrying or use of any product supplied by us. You assume full responsibility for the safe and lawful handling, storage and use of any product once it has been delivered to you.

We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was formed. Where we are found liable, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any order shall not exceed the price paid for the products in that order.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects the statutory rights of consumers.

11. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including the Katana Sword name, logo, text, product descriptions, photographs, graphics and page design, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or otherwise use any of our content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any contract formed under them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
