Tori means bird — and the whole sword is built around that idea of flight and the branch it rests on: a tree-branch motif down the scabbard, floral fittings, and a light, quick blade that draws like a wing opening. It is a mid-tier katana made by a master smith, where the mirror polish does as much work as the steel beneath it.
Forging & Steel
The blade is forged from high-carbon T10 tool steel for durability and edge retention, then differentially hardened to raise a wavy hamon along the edge. A master-smith mirror polish follows, a finish that highlights the temper line and turns the blade into a clear, reflective ribbon. The high carbon content keeps the edge keen through repeated cutting practice.
Mounting & Fittings
The tsuba is gilded and silvered copper depicting flora — a symbol of harmony with nature — set against a black-lacquered saya carrying a tree-branch motif and black sageo. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine white shagreen with a copper menuki kit and two bamboo mekugi over a true full-tang blade, for a secure grip.

Is it battle-ready?
Yes. Tori is a sharpened, full-tang T10 blade with a real wavy hamon — a functional cutting katana, light at 1.2 kg and quick in the hand, yet polished and dressed to display beautifully.
